LEDUC & WELLINGTON
In October 2019, we organized a pre-consultation for a mixed residential project in downtown Gatineau. We first organized individual meetings with different groups concerned by the housing issue in the city center. These meetings made it possible to direct the promoter’s attention to some of the local priorities.
We then organized an information session for the residents-neighbors of the project, project for which a Projet particulier de construction, de modification ou d’occupation d’un immeuble (PPCMOI) was required to move forward.
A total of 160 bilingual letters were mailed to neighbors in border areas. A web platform was also created to allow residents to confirm their attendance at the information evening and/or to subscribe to future news about the project. A few days after the information evening, which took place in a downtown reception hall, an online survey (Survey Monkey) was sent to participants. Respondents were asked to what extent, on a scale of 1 to 5, they agreed with the following five statements:
- I am satisfied with the information session: average of 4.7/5 (no disagreement)
- The project meets the needs of downtown: average of 4.2/5 (no disagreement)
- I got answers to my questions: average of 4/5 (no disagreement)
- The information was complete and clear: 4/5 (no disagreement)
- I had the opportunity to express my concerns: 4.4/5 (no disagreement)

“Eric assisted us in a mixed project in downtown Hull, as part of the municipal approval process. He helped us with meetings with the various stakeholders and organized an information evening for neighborhood citizens and businesspeople. A web platform was created to facilitate the dissemination of information and for registrations. Invitations were mailed out, with follow-up to ensure that all those qualified to vote could attend the evening. Following this, a very detailed report was written and submitted to the city, which greatly enhanced the social aspect of the project”.
