IMPERIAL TOBACCO

In the summer of 2021, we were tasked with organizing and facilitating a pre-consultation program as part of a development project on land that previously belonged to Imperial Tobacco, in St- Henri. To move forward, the project would require the adoption of a Projet particulier de construction, de modification ou d’occupation d’un immeuble (PPCMOI) by the Sud-Ouest borough. Our mission therefore consisted of mobilizing the surrounding population and having meetings with other interested stakeholders in the sector.

We hosted an information session in virtual mode, then we analyzed citizens’ points of view, methodically classified their reactions, then produced a detailed analysis report for the City of Montreal. For this, we drew on the database that we had created for the occasion, which allowed us a detailed analysis of the citizen journey throughout the process.

In addition to the traditional mailings to property owners in the area bordering the project, we also distributed personalized invitation cards door-to-door in the targeted area. Residents were invited to register for the information session through a QR code leading to the registration website. Prior to this information evening on the Zoom platform in webinar format, we had organized information meetings and interviews with socio-economic organizations in the sector and with the board members of the condominium syndicates of the surrounding condos.
